Complaints?

The Commissioner does not have the power to provide legal advice or investigate allegations of child abuse or individual complaints about services, agencies or organisations unless he is requested to do so by the Minister for Health and Human Services.

The Commissioner does not duplicate existing complaint processes available within organisations and the community, however the Commissioner does examine the operation of these processes to help promote their effectiveness and to identify systemic or long standing issues relating to all children and young people that need further action.
