What does the Council do?
What happens at meetings?
The Council’s views are shared through open discussion in a relaxed setting. Meetings are supervised and last for about three hours (with lunch provided). Each meeting follows an Agenda but the structure of the meetings is mostly decided by the Council.
Members give the Commissioner advice based on their personal experience and knowledge, so there is no need for members to do extra research unless they want to.
How long will I be a member?
You can join the Council for 1 or 2 years. If you are older than 16 when you join, your membership finishes on your 18th birthday.
