Charter of Rights for Children and Young People in Out of Home Care

The Charter was launched by the Hon Minister Lin Thorp MLC on the 5 June 2009 at Parliament House, Hobart. The Commissioner for Children developed the Charter with the assistance of a Steering Group comprised of CREATE, Tasmania, the Foster Carers Assocation of Tasmania and a representative of the Department of Health and Human Services. The Department is responsible for distributing the Charter materials to children and young people and others involved in the provision of Out of Home Care in Tasmania.
